Believe It’s True - A Song

Verse 1
Moses’ Law, it never saves:
Filled the desert with the graves
Of those who did not obey.
Righteous ones will live by faith.

Verse 2
When I heard the Law’s demand,
I could not keep one command.
Then I asked with trembling breath,
“Who will save me from this death?”

Chorus
Bring not Sinai’s clouds in view,
Tell me not of works to do.
Just one thing will bring me through:
Hear the gospel, believe it’s true,
Hear the gospel, believe it’s true.

Verse 3
God’s good Law my sin revealed,
But by it I was not healed.
Showed me all my works were dross,
Then it lead me to the cross.

Chorus
Bring not Sinai’s clouds in view,
Tell me not of works to do.
Just one thing will bring me through:
Hear the gospel, believe it’s true,
Hear the gospel, believe it’s true.

Bridge
Jesus kept the Law for me,
Then was hung upon a tree.
He was buried, rose again:
He has paid for all my sin,
I have righteousness in Him.

Verse 4
God’s Law will no more condemn,
Cannot ask for blood again.
My High Priest now speaks for me,
By His blood I am set free!

Chorus
Bring not Sinai’s clouds in view,
Tell me not of works to do!
Just one thing will bring me through:
Hear the gospel, believe it’s true,
Hear the gospel, believe it’s true,

Believe it’s true, believe it’s true,
Believe it’s true!
